Signs of low blood pressure
Blood pressure is the force applied the blood on the
inner walls of the artery. At normal pressure in a healthy person would
read 120/80. When the pressure drops below 90/60, the condition is
called low blood pressure or hypotension. While the low
pressure is usually a sign of a problem underlying health, it may appear in
otherwise healthy too.
While some reasons for low pressure are harmless,
others may be due to health complications. Heart disease, such as low rates of
heart problems in valves or heart failure causes a low pressure. Thyroid
disorders, liver disease, most of the dose of medication for hypertension,
low levels of sugar in the blood, nutrient deficiency, side
effects of certain medications, or allergies also cause a fall in blood
pressure. During the first 6 months of pregnancy, women experience low
blood pressure due to the expansion of the blood circulation system.
Children experience this condition for some time when they spend standing for
long periods of time, have a blood loss or as a result of dehydration.
Low blood pressure symptoms are dizziness, fainting
or dizziness. Severe show the state of confusion, lack of concentration, or
spells of unconsciousness. Continued low blood pressure can lead to
depression. These patients also complain of blurred vision, fatigue, nausea or
become cold and clammy skin.
Low pressure affects the heart and lungs. The first
is manifested by chest pain or angina. While the later causes difficulty
breathing, or shallow or rapid breathing If symptoms persist with headache,
loss of consciousness or difficulty in speech, immediate treatment is a must.
